Classified, Confidential - Everybody
Cc: Everybody explores the notion of privacy in the public domain.
The texts presented in "Cc: Everybody" are reproduced, verbatim, from classified ads found in the local newspapers. The style of the signs themselves is a take on a form of guerrilla advertising used on the roads in Trinidad, usually to blast party details at passersby.
The project magnifies and overshares these originally tiny, black and white bits of public information.
Editions of Cc: Everybody have been presented as erotic art for T&T's Erotic Art Week 2010 and 2011, and produced with other intentions in 2012 for the exhibitions "Common Room: Observations and comments on public-to-public communication" by Rodell Warner in Johannesburg and "After Colour" by Brianna McCarthy in Port of Spain.
The title of each piece notes the newspaper, city and date in which the ad appeared.
